Growing Up With Books
In this weeks Minisode, Dre pick apart our nerdy book origins. Our guest Carin reads books at a thunderous pace. She gets through 2-3 novels a week. With all the book talk, we discovered that she would take books home from oher job at Waldenbooks that were slated to be destroyed. I think mine was more embarrassing as I lost friends over reading too many move novelizations. She fights the Man. I digust him with my reading habits.
By now, I’ve relegated my reading to comics and non-fiction. Though I still read every Jason Pargin novel and loved Robert Brockway’s latest book “I’ll Kill Your Imaginary Friend For $200”. Getting time in for reading is tough for anyone these days. Producing the podcast gives me a reason to read more. Even if moost of that turns out to be non-fiction. Its the guest recommendations that I’d really like to get to. Michael Vincent Bramley turned me onto Gotham Central. Which in turn has me going through Ed Brubaker’s Criminal series.
Moving On With Podcasts
It’s been a busy few weeks as I recorded my first guest appearance on a podcast without Dre. Our guest for next week’s episode Atif Myers had me on his podcast ‘Sus Stories. With our release schedules, my episode should be coming out this week - a few days before Atif’s guest appearance here next week.
It was great to sit down with Atif for an hour to discuss Transmetropolitan, a Sus boook by the most Sus creator. I’m looking forward to introducing this audience to Atif, he’s a great guy.
